WOMEN RISE: A Summer Retreat to Rest and Reclaim Inner Radiance

4:00p Saturday, July 25th - 8:00p Sunday, July 26th

Gather with other like-minded sisters to nourish and empower the wisdom and radiance within, drawing inspiration from the intertwined sister sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga. Embrace true transformation by connecting with the tender heart, releasing powerful emotions, strengthening the voice, and learning to nourish the sacred temple of the body.

Experienced embodied yoga movement, empowering breath work and chanting, guided inspirational meditation, and journaling to piece together a strong, resilient community of women as one heart, one mind.

At this day retreat, women will experience:  

  • Mindful Movement to connect with and ground the body, release stuck emotions

  • Chanting Meditation to strengthen their voice

  • Yoga Nidra for divine rest and rejuvenation to rest the mind and nervous system

  • Journaling for reflection and processing emotions

  • Ayurvedic Acupressure for balancing the energy of the body, mind, and spirit

Meet Your Facilitators:

Heather Burkart, CAP, PKT, E-RYT 500, YACEP, has a passion for teaching from the intersection of Ayurveda and Yoga, where the two Vedic sciences powerfully unite. Her compassionate approach to yoga and holistic wellness guides her clients and students to find comfort and ease in their bodies, minds, and balance in their lives.

She earned her 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training certifications from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (Stockbridge, MA), and has been teaching for nearly 20 years. Currently, Heather teaches for the 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training program at Heailum Yoga Studios (Milwaukee, WI). 

Heather is a graduate of the Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Center (Glendale, WI), where she was certified as an Ayurvedic Educator, Practitioner, and Panchakarma Therapist and served as assistant teacher and intern supervisor. She is the founder of Her Well Being Ayurveda & Yoga, a clinical Ayurvedic medicine practice specializing in women’s wellness. A professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the Ayurveda Association of Wisconsin, she volunteers for local and national committees to advance the practice of Ayurveda. 

Erin Alexander, C-IAYT, is a post traumatic growth specialist who helps students transform stress and trauma through movement, devotion, song, dance, and community connection. She is the founder of the Wild Temple Wisdom School, which offers a virtual sangha for women, mentorships on business development and post-traumatic growth, and yoga therapy classes and education for schools, retreat centers and women's rehabilitation centers.

Erin’s 20+ year experience in education includes neuro and behavioral science, embodied recovery, and inter-faith spirituality. She instills hope in her students by sharing research-based practices that support the natural human capacity to rise up and grow through challenge and change.

She is a forever student of yoga and resides on the Nisenan lands of Northern California with her husband, two girls, and dog Biscuit where she runs her virtual yoga school from a yurt in the forest that brings her great peace and joy.
